Adaptive- Control for Linear Stochastic Systems with Unknown Orders and Coefficients
    YANG Chang-li;RUAN Rong-yao;GONG Miao-kung
    Journal of East China Normal University(Natural Sc    2004, 2004 (1): 1-14.
    Abstract3161)
This paper considers single-input single-output linear discrete-time stochastic feed-back control systems(ARMAX model) with unknown orders and coefficients, and propose a new adaptive control algorithm, which is easily implemented on-line. The algorithm can guarantee the global stability of the resulting closed-loop system and the asymptotic optimality of the adaptive tracking. And the estimates of the orders and coefficients are all strongly consistent in the closed-loop identification. Simultaneously, the convergent rate of coefficient estimates to their true values is also given. The simulation results given in this paper show that the new algorithm of the adaptive control we developed here are effective and feasible, besides the control quantities are in the range of the admissible control.

    Journal of East China Normal University(Natural Sc    2004, 2004 (1): 56-60.
    Abstract10682)
Fe/PTFE nanometer compound was prepared by high energy ball milling. Firstly, PTFE was milled for 50h,90h,120h ,then Fe/ PTFE mixture was milled for 700h. The components were indentified by 57Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy. The Mossbauer effect studies show that the spectrum includes not only both
sextets of bulk and interface of a-Fe ,it indicates the size of particle Fe is in the order of nanometer, but also one singlet for Fe3+, one doublet for Fe2+ , they corresponds to FeF2 and FeF3 respectively. As milling time increases, the component of interface of a-Fe disappears, meantime, the Fe3C appears. The result shows that it is helpful to produce FeF3 as PTFE was initially milled.

    Journal of East China Normal University(Natural Sc    2004, 2004 (1): 73-78.
    Abstract3130)
To study the analgesic effect and ameliorating effect of cobra cardiotoxin (CTX) on learning and memory impairment induced by scopolamine in mice. The toxicity of CTX was measured in acute toxicity test. The analgesic effect of CTX in mice was measured by hot plate method and acetic aicd writhing test.
The ameliorating effect of CTX on learning and memory impairment induced by scopolamine in mice was studied by Y-Maze, Shuttle-box, Step-down and Water Maze methods respectively. LD50 value of CTX was 2.17 mg/kg. CTX ip 0.03 mg/kg, 0. O6mg/kg significantly prolonged the latency time of mice to hot plate stimuli, attenuated the writhing times induced by acetic aicd. CTX ip 0.06 mg/kg, 0.12mg/kg significantly reduced the errors of the mice in Y-Maze test, decreased the mices training times, shorten the escape latency in Shuttle box test. In Step-down test, CTX ip 0.06mg/kg, 0.12mg/kg increased the escape latency and reduced the number of errors, CTX also reduced the searching platform latency and swim path-length in Morris water maze test with mice. All of the effects are dose-dependent. The results above suggested that CTX has an effect of analgesia and is able to improve the learning and memory impairment induced by scopolarnine in mice.

The compositions of protein and amino acids were measured and analyzed during the embryonic development of Cherax quadricarinatus. The results indicated that the contents of total protein and total amino acids were all downtrend. The total amino acid contents reduced from 58.05 % (dry weight) at the fertilized egg stage to 47.49% at the prepare-hatching stage. The correlation between the total amino acid and the essential amino acid(except methionine) was prominent, the coefficients of variation were from 8. 25 0o to
    13. 34N. In the non-essential amino acid, the contents of glutamine acid and aspartic acid were relatively higher, but the content of cysteine was relatively lower. The results above indicated that protein and amino acid were not only the construction substances of embryonic development, but also the dominating energy sources.

Study on the Toxicity of Sediment and Water of Suzhou Creek

    Journal of East China Normal University(Natural Sc    2004, 2004 (1): 93-98.
    Abstract3718)
The toxicity of sediment and water of Suzhou Creek was investigated by toxicological methods including acute and sub-acute toxicity test performed on luminescent bacteria, fishes, mice and rats. In luminescent bacteria toxicity test, for the reaches of Zhaotun, Huangdu, Huacao, Beixinjing, Panwanli,
Changshou Lu Bridge, Wuning Lu Bridge and Zhejiang Lu Bridge, exposure to the water and the lixivium of sediment inhibited the luminescence, which suggests these samples have toxicity effect on the photobacteria. Furthermore, the toxicity effect is more obvious in urban reaches than in suburb ones, in summer than in winter, in the sediment than in the water. In field test, for the reaches of Changshou Lu Bridge and Zhejiang Lu Bridge, after exposure for 96 hours the livability rate of crucian respectively decreased to 0% and 30%;but for Huangdu reach the livability rates crucian was 83 %. The results suggest urban reaches are evidently unsuitable for cruciads survival. The results of the test on mice suggest the sedimant of Beixinjing
reach has acute toxicity to mice. According to the results of sub-acute test on rats the sediment and the water of Beixinjing reach could be harmful to animars liver. On the basis of the above results we draw the conclusion that Suzhou Creek especially its reaches in urban area is unfavorable for biological survival.

    Journal of East China Normal University(Natural Sc    2004, 2004 (2): 58-63.
    Abstract2802)
The Bragg frequency, which describes the upper limit frequency of distributed phase shifters, is a very important parameter of RF distributed MEMS phase shifters. This paper discusses in detail the underlying cause and analysis method of Bragg frequency. In addition, by using microwave network theory, the Bragg frequencies of MEMS phase shifters with different dimensions have been calculated. The simulated results demonstrate the Bragg frequency is decreased by increase of the dimension and spacing. The studied phase shifters consist of a CPW line (50 Ω) periodically with MEMS bridges at a spacing of 300 μm. When the widths of the center conductor are chosen to be 50 μm and 100μm, the Bragg frequency are 38.1 GHz and 27.6 GHz, respectively. As the width of the center conductor is fixed at 100 μm, the Bragg frequency reduces form 27.6 GHz to 19.6 GHz with the spacing increasing form 300 μm to 567 μm. Researching the Bragg frequency will benefit the design and optimization of the distributed MEMS phase shifters.

The Changjiang estuary is a typical estuary that fluvial factors plays a dominant role in fluvio-marine interaction. The process and its variation of runoff and sediment discharge have situation under control in respect of evolution of the estuarine environment. This paper studies main characters of runoff process at Datong Station with methods of time-series analysis. It is stated that the runoff series at Datong Station has little change trend since 1923, but a jumped decrease near 1955 and a jumped increase near 1988 have emerged. Meanwhile, it has a certain appearance of periodic variation with around 16,7 years. The distribution patterns of monthly flow, the matching state of high or low water between flood and dry season as well as the relevant causes are also discussed in the paper.

The Changjiang river is rich in sediment supply which exerts an important influence on development of the Changjiang delta, evolution of shoals and channels in the estuary, realignment and utilization of the estuary. Trend analysis and period analysis on the sediment transport series at Datong Station state that an obvious decrease trend has emerged in the annual series of sediment transport at Datong Station although the sediment discharge at Yichang Station and the annual runoff series at Datong Station have little change trend. The situation is mainly related to shoaling of Dongting Lake, Poyang Lake and other lakes. The sediment-producing region is mostly located in the upper reach and sediment-producing effect of upper, middle and lower reaches is obviously different, so that sediment transporting situation is responded with runoff discharge only about 30% of years in the series. As for monthly distribution of sediment discharge, some 87.7% of suspension loads are discharged through the Datong section from May to Octorber. In addition, the matching status of sediment discharge between flood and dry seasons is preliminarily analyzed in the paper.

Observation and Modeling Analysis of Dynamic Mechanism of the Upwelling at Lusi

    Journal of East China Normal University(Natural Sc    2004, 2004 (2): 87-91,1.
    Abstract2915)

Based on the analysis of the observation we organized in August of 2000 off the Changjiag mouth,we found for the first time that there exists upwelling phenomenon at Lusi fish ground. The upwelling can bring the colder water and nutrient from the lower layer to the upper layer, and has an important effect on the environment and ecosystem. In order to understand the dynamic mechanism of the upwelling phenomenon,we used a three-dimension high resolution turbulent closure circulation model in spherical coordinates based on the modified ECOM_si model to study this upwelling. The calculated domain includes the East China Sea,Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea,and the real coastline and water depth were considered. In the case of considering all dynamic factors (water volume flux at the open boundaries, density gradient forcing and wind stress),the numerical model reconstructed successfully the upwelling phenomenon which is fairly consistent with the observations. The numerical experiments show that the dynamic mechanism of the upwelling is mainly produced by the baroclinic effect that is induced by the mixing between fresh water from the Changjiang River and the saline water. The wind stress has a little effect on it,and the water volume flux at open boundaries has no effect on it.The combination force of the slop of bottom with the baroclinic effect and wind stress makes the upwelling stronger.

Let F be a family of meromorphic functions on domain D, all of whose zeros are of multiplicity at least m+3. Let h≠0, a0, a1, …, am-1 be holomorphic functions on D. If for any f∈F, L(f)(z)=f(m)(z)+am-1(z)f(m-1)(z)+…+a1(z)f′(z)+a0(z)f(z)≠h(z), z∈D, then F is normal on D.

This article discusses the difference between two Bayesian models. With model 1, it is assumed that xi(i=1,2)is conditional independent under θi(i=1,2). While with model 2, it is assumed that xi(i=1,2)is unconditional independent. The question is that when working for the Bayesian estimation of θ1, is there any difference on the results under the two different models? The numerical comparison shows that there is only small difference between the results. So the simpler model 2 can replace the model 1, when Bayesian estimation of θ1 is calculated.

    Journal of East China Normal University(Natural Sc    2004, 2004 (3): 105-114.
    Abstract4323)
The air temperature (T) and relative humidity (RH) are observed for six different types of rivers and water bodies in Shanghai urban district. By comparing temperature-humidity features and human comfort degrees between the windward and leeward shores of these selected water bodies in different seasons, this paper attempts to analyze microclimate effects of urban river and waterbody effects. The results obtained are as follows: (1) The size of water area contributes greatly to microclimate effects. In observing period for several seasons, the T in the lake leeward decreased by 1~3 ℃ and the RH increased by 6%~14% compared to that in windward shore in Changfeng Park. (2) Building layout around waterbody affects the microclimate in some degree. Dense high buildings in Zhongyuan residential district transform the state of airflow, so a microclimate effect is formed near Suzhou brook. (3) Compound ecosystem composed by water and greenbelt can do well work for a microclimate effect. On condition of open green space near Zhangjiabang brook, the T in leeward shore is lower by 1.5~2 ℃ and the RH is higher by 4~8% than that in windward shore during observing periods. (4) The artificial facilities such as fountain, can improve the waterbody microclimate effect. Near artificial lake of Taipingqiao greenbelt, the difference of T and RH enlarged respectively by 0.3 ℃ and 4% when the fountain was working than it closed in the observing day. (5) The effect of human comfort degree displays more significant in warm spring-summer than it in cold and dry winter.

Hepatocytes in vitro damaged by carbon tetrachloride (CCL4) and high glucose(HG) were used to research the mechanism of CCL4 and HG on the glucokinase(GK) activity, the intercellular Ca2+ concentration and the level of tyrosine phosphorylation in cells ,and then the protective effects of Lycium bararum polysaccharides(LBP).The results showed that CCL4 and HG inhibited the GK activity, elevated Caconcentration and decreased the level of tyrosine phosphorylation in hepatocytes. LBP could improve the change of the GK activity and Ca2+ concentration induced by CCL4 and HG, and the decrease of tyrosikinase activity in the pathway of insulin induced by CCL4 only. But LBP couldn’t improve the decrease of tyrosikinase activity induced by HG.The conclusion was that LBP could protect hepatocytes against free radicals directly, but not against the damage of HG. This related to the different mechanism of CCL4 and HG.

The characteristics of the acoustic response of AⅠneurons to the frequency of pure tone were investigated with extracellularly recording. The experimental results showed that the tuning curves of AⅠneurons could be classified into “V”, “W”, and “U” types. Q10 values and Q30 values of AⅠneurons increased with increasing of the characteristic frequencies (CFs) of these neurons. The results also showed the topographical distribution of the CFs of neurons in AⅠcortex. Generally the neurons with high CFs laid in the rostral part of AⅠ, and the neurons with low CFs laid in its caudal part. These results indicated that AⅠneurons with high CFs had more powerful frequency selectivity ability than that with low CFs, and that the frequency range of acoustic response of AⅠneurons widened with increasing of CFs of these neurons. The topographical distribution of the CFs in AⅠindicated that the coding on frequency of sound stimulation accorded with the rule of place coding.

Insulin was exposed to the pulsed electric field (PEF) for 0 min or 20 min before being added to the culture medium containing L-02 human hepatocytes. Thirty minutes later, the tyrosine phosphorylation level of the cells for each group was monitored by a flow cytometry. The average fluorescent intensity of the test cell groups decreased by 10.33% compared with the control groups. After the cells were cultured in the medium with the exposed insulin or the normal insulin for 68 hours, the gene expression levels were measured by using a gene expression chip. The change of fifty-five out of 12,000 gene sequences of the test groups were obvious compared to the controls. The human tyrosine phophatase mRNA showed increases in their expressions. These results suggested that, the intercellular signal molecule such as insulin can be the target of the electromagnetic field, and acts as a signal carrier of the information of PEF, which consequently causes its biological effects.

Based on RS&GIS technique and quantitative analysis method and fractal model. We can reveal the main characters and dynamic process of the pattern of land-use in arid area. Our conclusions are as followings: (1) In Wuwei city the types of land-use were simplex, the density of land-use patches was small. (2) From 1995 to 2000 the diversity of the pattern of land-use had a little increase, while the dominance decreased comparatively. The fragmentation difference of all kinds of land-use was big. (3) In the terms of the simulative result with fractal model, the nature land-use influenced lower by humankind have more complexity than man-power land-use, the stability is reverse, The residential area and independent mine industry, water area were the most stable and simple land-use, while the farmland and grassland were the most complicated and unstable land-use. In the timescale the complexities of almost all land-uses in the pattern of land-use were increased while the stabilities were depressed. (4) The main factors that effect and control the pattern of land-use were complicated, there were three main factors region background, nature conditions and human activities. We should adopt reasonable measures to prevent the process.

    Journal of East China Normal University(Natural Sc    2004, 2004 (4): 72-78.
    Abstract3933)
Using the improved ECOM model and suspended sediment transportation model, the impact of the estuarine funnel shape on the estuarine turbidity maximum zone formation is studied with an idealized strait and funnel-shape estuary designed in this paper. There exists turbidity maximum zone at stagnation point, and its center locates at south side of the river coast. The reason of formation of estuarine turbidity maximum zone was revealed in terms of dynamic mechanism. Compared with the case of the strait estuary, the current divergence induced by the spreading width of funnel-shape estuary inner the mouth makes the current weaken, the distance of land-ward flow of density current at bottom layer induces, and the saltwater intrusion strengthens in the funnel-shape estuarine area. In addition the landward density induced current of bottom layer and its westward flowing distance increases. The westward intrusion distance of saltwater in the strait river channel region increases. The concentration of suspended sediment in the funnel-shape estuary decreases, but there are two turbidity maximum zones in it. One lies in the strait river way. Because the stagnant point moves toward upstream, its position relevantly moves toward upstream. However, the other lies in the south coast of the funnel-shape estuary area. It is mainly induced by the river flow, which turns toward the south coast under the effect of Coriolis Force, and the bottom transverse circulation which transport high concentration suspended sediment to the south coast. The variation of the river mouth shape has obvious impact on the estuarine circulation, the salinity intrusion and the turbidity maximum zone.

    Journal of East China Normal University(Natural Sc    2004, 2004 (4): 97-102.
    Abstract3187)
The electron microscopic enzymo-cytochemistry is used to study on the organelles in both vegetative- and resting cells of Euplotes encysticus. The results revealed that: (1)The reaction particles of adenosine triposphatase (ATPase) was tightly confined to the membrane of food vacuoles in the vegetative cells, while in the resting cells they gathered around the pellicle. (2)In the vegetative cells, the localization of the reaction particles of acid phosphatase (ACPase) was in the food vacuoles or the autophagic vacuoles of different stages, while in the resting they formed the vacuolar or spherical bodies. (3)The reaction particles of succinate dehydrogenase scattered on the mitochondrial in the vegetative cells, though they could also be seen in the scattered mitochondria in the resting cells, its activity was weaker than that of the former. Thus it was supposed from the above results: (1) In most cases, the enzyme activities in the resting cells were weaker than in the vegetative cells. (2) The enzyme activity and localization might be different in different kinds of resting cells. (3) The resting cells could also have digestive duration, energy consumption and functional mitochondria.

    Abstract4394)
Studying the morphogenesis of Dictyostelium discoideum development, we found that there were distinct differences between the wild cells KAX-3 and the mutant cells AK127(LagC gene was knockout). The mutant cells AK127 was blocked at loose aggregation stage for lacking gp150 during developmental stages. However, the wild cells KAX-3 completed the whole developmental stages successfully. Three isoenzymes were obtained from developing cells of Dictyostelium discoideum which included a wild type cells(KAX-3) and a mutant type cells Compared these isoenzymes by gel electrophoresis, we found that two different esterases appreared in AK127 while only one in KAX-3. Furthermore, the content of malate dehydrogenase (MDH) is more in AK127 than in KAX-3 at different developing stage. At 14h during development, the content of glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH) in AK127 is higher than in KAX-3;but at 16h GDH in AK127 is lower than in KAX-3. From the results, we learned that the pattern of some isoenzymes were changed between wild cells and mutant cells during development stage, indicating some changes in the expression of some genes. So it seemed that gp150 was an important factor in development.

    Journal of East China Normal University(Natural Sc    2004, 2004 (4): 111-116.
    Abstract3050)
The male reproductive system of Daphnia (Ctendaphnia) carinata is composed of a pair of testes, deferens and one male gonopore. The wall of the sausage-shaped testis is composed of connective tissue and germinal epithelium inside. The tube-shaped deferens, which gets larger at the end of it, is mainly made up of connective tissue. The spermatogenesis includes five stages: spermatogonium、primary spermatocyte、secondary spermaticyte、spermatid and spermatozoon. The mature sperm is clubbed and the spermatogenesis shows a tendency of synchronization. The sexual maturation experiences four stages. The male reproductive system retains its primative characters on structure and function, but it has also made up its adaptability through the long-time evolution, which enables Daphnia (Ctendaphnia) carinata and other species of Cladocera to live with the changeable living environment.

    Journal of East China Normal University(Natural Sc    2004, 2004 (4): 117-121.
    Abstract3220)
Heptacodium miconioides Rehd. (Caprifoliaceae), seven-son-flower, is an endangered species endemic to China. The population structure of H. miconioides was analyzed at genet and ramet levels, respectively, in Dapan Mountain of Zhejiang Province. No individual of size class I (height<0.33m) was found in all studied sites. Size-class III and IV had most abundant individuals. At ramet level, size-class II and III had most abundant stems. Generally, size-class structure indicated a relatively stable situation in Dapan Mountain. However, in some sites, H. miconioides had the risk of local extinction. Sites at mid-altitude had lowest stems per individual, whereas more stems per individual were found at lower or higher sites. Individuals of the largest size class (size class V) had significant more stems per individual than size class III and critically significant more than size class IV. Our observation indicated that the population of Dapan Mountain was regenerated via asexual reproduction. These results showed that H. miconioides in Dapan Mountain could be maintained if no dramatic changes in the habitats. A reserve should be set because Dapan Mountain may be the largest population of H. miconioides.

    Journal of East China Normal University(Natural Sc    2004, 2004 (4): 122-130.
    Abstract3359)
Disposable expanded polystyrene fast food container is one of the main causes of “white pollution”. A comparison study on Expanded polystyrene(EPS) fast food containers and photicly/bioticly degradable ones has been carried out using the life-cycle assessment (LCA) methodology. The result shows that the environmental impacts of the two kinds of fast food container are mostly originated from production stage, and the main impacts are resources damage. The environmental harmony of EPS fast food container is higher than photicly/bioticly degradable ones when 70% of it is collected and recycled after being used. A comparison study on waste disposal scenarios shows that collecting and recycling has less environmental impacts than incinerating or landfilling for EPS fast food container, and incinerating has less environmental impacts than landfilling for photicly/bioticly degradable fast food containers. Some suggestions on ecological design of two kinds fast food container are put forward.
