Abstract: This experiment was designed to investigate the effect of the βCa2+/calmodulin dependent protein kinases II(βCaMKII) on the working memory in mice. The result of Western Blot showed that βCaMKII was overexpressed in the prefrontal cortex in transgenic mice. There was no significance in escape latency between transgenic mice and controls in Morris water maze. In addition, the correct of transgenic mice in T maze was also similar to that of controls. These results suppose that overexpression of the βCaMKII has no significant effect on the prefrontal cortex dependent working memory in mice.
